01 / OVERVIEW

Overview

SliCap (the “App”) is a screen capture tool that operates entirely on the user’s device. The App makes no internet connections. The developer does not collect, view, or store usage information or captured content, and no information is provided to third parties.

02 / INFORMATION PROCESSED

Information processed by the App

The App processes the following information only after an explicit user action, such as pressing a hotkey or clicking a button. This information is generated only when the user chooses the relevant feature and is never transmitted outside the device.

  • Images of screens or windows captured by the user
  • Text extracted from images through OCR (optical character recognition)
  • Areas of images or videos selected for redaction
  • Text generated from video audio by the transcription feature

OCR, face detection, and speech recognition are all performed by models running locally on the device. The App does not contact cloud services or external APIs for this processing.

03 / STORAGE

Where data is stored

  • Captured images, videos, and transcription results are saved in a folder on the device selected by the user. They are not transmitted to a developer server or anywhere outside the device.
  • App settings, including the save folder and hotkey assignments, are stored locally in %APPDATA%\SliCap\ and do not contain personally identifying information.
  • Local log files containing basic operational information, such as start and exit times and brief status details, are stored in the same folder for user troubleshooting and are not transmitted externally.

04 / THIRD PARTIES

Sharing with third parties

The App does not integrate with advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or other external services. No personal information is collected or shared.

05 / RESPONSIBLE USE

Capturing information about other people

The App provides screen capture functionality. Users are responsible for using it appropriately and should not record or save screens containing meeting participants or other people without their consent.
